In Word 2007, click the Office button and select Open. In the Open dialog box, click on the corrupt file that you would like to open and then click the small down arrow next to the Open button. This will bring up the Open menu. In the Open menu, select “Open and Repair.”. The only way to fix this message was to uninstall Office and reinstall Office 365 using her credentials and it shows her signed into Office but she still can't open SharePoint documents. She now had a message 'Office 365 Your Cached Credentials have expired' but she was able to use Excel, Word etc except for the SharePoint issue. To use the Style Inspector pane in Word to see the formatting applied to selected text, first select the text to inspect in the document. Then click the “Home” tab in the Ribbon. Next, click the “Styles” task pane launcher button in the lower-right corner of the “Styles” button group to launch the “Styles” task pane. One of the benefits of having Office 365 is its ability to save to OneDrive. Thanks to the power of Microsoft's cloud, you can have your documents save automatically, and even recover lost files.

The Document Inspector gives users an easy way to examine documents for personal or sensitive information, text phrases, and other document contents. They can use the Document Inspector to remove unwanted information; for example, before distributing a document.
Note
Microsoft does not support the automatic removal of hidden information for signed or protected documents, or for documents that use Information Rights Management (IRM). We recommend that you run the Document Inspector before you sign a document or invoke IRM on a document.

As a developer, you can use the Document Inspector framework to extend the built-in modules and integrate your extensions into the standard user interface.

Opening the Document Inspector
Inspect Document In Office 365 Login
To open the Document Inspector:
Choose the File tab, and then choose Info.
Choose Check for Issues.
Choose Inspect Document.
Use the Document Inspector dialog box to select the type or types of data to find in the document.
After the modules complete the inspection, the Document Inspector displays the results for each module in a dialog box. If a given module finds data, the dialog box includes a Remove All button that you can click to remove that data. If the module does not find data, the dialog box displays a message to that effect.

If you choose to remove the data for a given module, the dialog box displays descriptive text that indicates whether the operation was successful or not. If the Document Inspector encounters errors during the operation, the module is flagged, displays an error message, and the data for that module does not change.

First thing I'd do is have her sign into another computer and see if the issue still occurs. My gut is telling me this is an issue with the Office install on the computer.
